Helpful websites for Basketball elective groups

Dear Coralites,

This post is meant for the Sec 3 & 4s taking basketball as your elective. As mentioned during PE, you need to be responsible for your learning.
Coaches need to look for appropriate drills for the team to help the team improve on a whole.
Captains need to take charge of your team - arrange for practices, motivate them.
Referees should familiarise themselves with the standard game rules.
Score-keepers should look for templates to keep track of your score and how your team is doing. (successful rebounds, free throws taken and scored, steals etc.)
Everyone should have a part to play as your teams were designed as such, no one warms the bench!!

the following links are just guidelines for those of you having trouble finding the standard game rules or possible drills your team can adopt. Note that you may also go to youtube and search "basketball drills' and you will get countless helpful videos to improve your game. Plan for at least 20 minutes of drilling before diving into the 5v5 game during PE.

How much fun you are going to have for these few weeks largely depends on your participation and responsibility in improving your game. Feel free to look up the teachers should you have any problems or doubts.

Have a good long weekend ahead!
=)

There is a time for everything ... for responsibility

Dear Coralites,

There is a time for everything ... especially for displaying responsibility.

As much as we would want to encourage you to be self-organised and play sports, we think that as sportsmen / sportswomen, we need to display a strong sense of responsibility ..

So we are trying to teach you responsibility here instead of going for an outright ban on bringing sports equipment eg. basketballs, soccer balls.

We would want to believe in all Coralites that you are able to think and act responsibily.

So, for Coralites who may still want to bring your sports equipment, continue to do so but pls remember you are to keep them in your lockers during lessons and play in the designated areas.
